Tohoshinki,
currently in the midst of their nationwide concert tour in 11 cities
with 26 concerts in Japan, held a free live broadcast of its concert
performance of Fukui Sun Dome on March 10th (Sat) at the movie theaters
in the earthquake/tsunami-stricken areas in Japan. As it
has been one year since the East Japan Earthquake Disaster and a few
fans of Tohoshinki were affected by the disaster, Tohoshinki decided to
make their live concert available for free public viewing, wishing to
bring smiles and energys to the residents at the disaster-stricken
areas.
The free live broadcast took place at the 5 movie theaters in three stricken prefectures in Tohoku area – Iwate, Miyagi and Fukushima. 2,000 people including the fan club members living in the 3 prefectures as well as the local students were invited to this free event.
Tohoshinki members began the concert with the opening message “Everybody in Tohoku, let’s have a good time together!”. Among many songs they performed, they sang the new single “STILL” (to be released 3/14) as well as newly arranged version of “The Way U Are” specifically prepared for this event, and delivered a dominating stage performance.
At the encore, they said with cheerfulness, “We feel that we were deeply connected to everybody in Tohoku today”, “We hope that today’s live concert has brought everyone extra smiles in their life”. A total of 17,000 fans enjoyed their concerts in Fukui for 2 days.
At the movie theaters of the live broadcast, the red pen lights were handed out to the audience at the entrance, and the audience sang along and enjoyed the live performance together.
